Education Charity Organization

Education is a human right. And, like other human rights, it cannot be taken for granted. Across the world, more than 120 million children do not complete primary education. Behind these figures there are children and youth being denied not only a right, but opportunities: a fair chance to get a decent job, to escape poverty, to support their families, and to develop their communities. As our revenues are related to higher educated people, we feel the least we can do is giving back a bit of our earnings to this education cause.

We came in contact with Sallo Polak, Founder of the Philanthropy Connections Foundation (PCF).

More than a decade ago, Sallo Polak was a highly respected professional in the Dutch television industry where he worked for many popular national TV programs. After more than 15 satisfying years, Sallo felt it was time for a career change. He wanted to follow his heart and fulfill his strong desire to help make a better world for people living in the most vulnerable situations. This resulted in the establishment of Philanthropy Connections Foundation in 2011.

The fundamental idea behind PCF is that small local organizations are key to effectively providing sustainable solutions and creating opportunities for marginalized people.

Development projects that are initiated and implemented by the communities have the best chances of being successful.

The main challenge of such valuable initiatives is their limited access to funds. They simply lack the time, knowledge and network to find financial support for their community-driven projects. This often results in the failure or cancellation of valuable programs.

The main goal of PCF is to ensure funding for projects that truly support people in need. To achieve that, PCF connects local project initiatives with sponsors who want to support deserving and (cost) effective small-scale projects. PCF aims to break the poverty cycle, by providing support for projects in the areas of education, health, nutrition, safe shelter, and the inclusion of people with disabilities.

Within just a few years Philanthropy Connections had already proven its effectiveness. What started as Sallo’s personal desire and commitment to make a difference for people in need, has evolved into a well-established foundation.

PCF supports disadvantaged communities in three countries (Thailand, Cambodia and Burma) and a large group of beneficiaries, which is still growing.

Premium Profiles will closely work together with Sallo and his team at PCF to support their Education related projects (
